Background Comprehensive proteomics profiling may offer new insights into the dysregulated metabolic milieu of type 2 diabetes, and in the future, serve as a useful tool for personalized medicine.

After completed course the student should be able to: Proteomics describes large-scale analysis of proteins in a biological sample. The aim of these studies is to determine the protein parts that are present in such samples and to define their concentrations, molecular states, structures, functions or connections. At the interface between bioimaging, proteomics and artificial intelligence are fundamental aspects of human cell biology systematically assessed at a single cell level using an antibody-based approach. The aim is to understand how human proteins are distributed in time and space, how variations and deviations in localization can contribute to cell type specificity as well as disease.
